The abrasive blaster for optimal stripping!

Among machines that are true partners for surface treatment work, theair abrasive blaster, like dry ice cleaning machines, really stand out.

Whether it's facades to renovate, metal surfaces to degrease and expose, or even woodwork, stripping rims, its process is effective and adapts to your needs.

How does thesoda blasting work? Does an air abrasive blaster allow you to clean all surfaces to make them clean and smooth? What are its advantages compared to more traditional stripping methods? Let's take a look...

The abrasive blaster: a stripper with plenty of power

This process, thesoda blasting is a cleaning or stripping technique (depending on the media used) and is similar to mechanical descaling such as shot peening, among others, and is a derivative of sandblasting. While the latter consists of projecting abrasive at high pressure, thesoda blastingintroduces very diverse abrasive particles and of hardness different ones.

Garnet, aluminum silicate which are fusion slag, corundum, ground walnut shells, glass microbeads or even sodium bicarbonate, are among the most commonly used abrasives.

This abrasive is mixed with pulsed air or (compressor or factory pressurized air network) (electric or thermal air compressor) at low pressure. This mixture is conveyed through a hose or an anti-static hose and is projected onto the surfaces to be treated using adhesive nozzles en tungsten carbide* nozzles and a gun or a lance. The nozzle diameter determines work efficiency and must therefore be adapted to the volume of the part to be treated.

*: The nozzles of the Nanogom, dry Raptor and Maxigom40 are equipped with a double venturi system, which increases work efficiency by 25 % compared to competing equipment at equal pressure and air volume.

Its other particularity is the quantity used for projecting these particles. . One could speak of micro-explosions. grams of abrasive per minute for theair abrasive blaster Maxigom 40 whereas a sandblaster projects between 6 and 7 kg of abrasive/min. The difference is significant enough to note, as it makes it a much more economical.

Not only does this allow for much more precise work on smaller surfaces, but it also prevents damaging them.

This achievement is the result of using a screw feeder on the Nanogom model and a selective valve with 6 positions on the models Raptor et Maxigom40.

Another characteristic of Cryoblaster low-pressure abrasive blasters is the ability to adjust the working pressure from 0,5 to 8 bars. Thanks to this range, the machine is highly efficient. Finally, regarding the means of propulsion, the abrasive is contained in a pressurized tank of 40 liters on the Maxigom40 and 11 liters for the Nanogom and 17 liters on theair abrasive blaster Raptor.

The dried air (cyclonic separator, recommended: air-refrigerant dryer) will propel the abrasive through a bundle ending with a nozzle. The diameter of the nozzle is chosen based on the surface to be treated, the nature of the material, its thickness as well as oxidation, among other things, or even mold to be removed.

Nevertheless, do not confuse soda blasting and misting. The latter technique includes water added to the sand and air in significant proportions. Thesoda blasting is therefore a high-pressure cleaning that is suitable for both homeowners and professionals.

To treat fairly large surfaces or for delicate work such as historic monument renovation or car paint stripping, think about thesoda blasting !

The advantages of the abrasive blaster

It is possible to make fine adjustments thanks to the feeder (abrasives), the pressure regulator and by determining the nozzle diameter.

L’air abrasive blaster NanoGom, Raptor ou Maxigom 40 (equipment 100 % pneumatic), is the essential accessory for all surface treatment.

Whether you are a stripping company or an individual wanting to renovate a metal gate, wooden shutters or even blinds, it will complete your surface cleaning. You can then treat these perfectly clean coatings with an appropriate product. This will be a wood stain for impeccable woodwork or paint for metal parts.

Stripping by soda blasting allows you to clean in a very targeted manner, which is a fully advantageous benefit for car bodies as well. But precision is not the only strength of this machine, which is much more environmentally friendly than traditional sandblasting.

Not only does sand become a material to preserve and at a much higher cost than the abrasives used inair abrasive blaster, however you then need to vacuum it up. For theair abrasive blaster, abrasives come from residues and do not affect the resource.

Projections must also respect the environment, which is the case thanks to various abrasives. As for air consumption, this remains to be adjusted according to your needs.

Finally, remember to protect elements located near the surfaces to be treated. You risk damaging them and it would be truly counterproductive. The quality/price ratio for this machine that knows how to deploy top-notch assets for all types of surfaces and all user profiles is truly interesting.

Remember that, as with all cleaning work under (compressor or factory pressurized air network), a equipment de protect is recommended. With abrasives that are quite active and pressurized air projections, you must always be cautious.

Make the abrasive blaster your go-to machine for your precise and thorough cleaning!

The equipment Nanogom, Raptor et Maxigom 40 allow you to strip beams, wooden furniture, rust, or even graffiti on a wall, and are indicated for facade renovation, brick facade stripping.

Our equipment allows treatment of large and small surfaces and can be coupled with a blasting cabinet.

The use of the hydro nozzle also allows hydro-abrasive applications: dust reduction and softer treatment on delicate surfaces.

The particle size of accepted abrasives ranges from 0.04 à 1.00 mm.

All our low-pressure stripping systems are equipped as standard with a pressure relief safety valve

For your stripping and facade cleaning work, for restoring your gates, without chemicals and with the utmost respect for the environment (we recommend using baking soda).
