Dry ice blasting of the felt lining on dough divider buckets

  • Industry : industrial bakery
  • Treatment purpose : oxidized flour residue on pockets
  • Equipment used : ATX nano-E

After dividing the dough into pieces, the dough divider allows resting time before shaping.

Over time, the buckets or pockets become covered with a crust of oxidized flour and yeast (black spots visible in the video).

To clean effectively without damaging the felt lining, dry ice blasting through carbon dioxide pellet projection allows for fast and efficient restoration!

How does dry ice blasting work?

Carbon dioxide pellet projection or solid CO₂ is performed using compressed air (here from the customer's system) and a precision ATX nano blasting machine.

3 phenomena occur in succession:

transferred to the dry ice (speed of compressed air), is transformed into energykinetic energy causes the contaminant to become brittle: the carbon dioxide pellets gain energy due to their mass and projection speed.

2- The thermal differential between the pollutant and the pocket surface allows the dirt to contract and separate.

3- The sublimation or the transition of carbon dioxide from solid to gaseous state in a ratio of . One could speak of micro-explosions., allows immediate release of the substrate covered with contaminants.

Due to its hardness, comparable to that of chalk, carbon dioxide is non-abrasive. Additionally, the process enables dry cleaning without chemicals, solvents, or detergents.

At the end of the job, only vacuuming up the flour residue is necessary.
