Dry ice cleaning for cars: how does it work?
The dry ice cleaning technique consists of the projection of particles de it.
This projection is accomplished using a cleaning equipment unit ATX Nano ou other (ATX25-E, ATX30...)
L'ATX Nano(for example) is connected to a source of(compressor or factory pressurized air network) as well as to a single-phase 220V electrical power source.
The hopper is then filled with pellets or mini-cylinders of solid carbon dioxide that can be compared in appearance to grains of rice. Mixed with the help of a metering plate, the dry ice in pellet form is then conveyed, through compressed air flow to the spray gun and nozzle, via a hose.

Dry Ice Blasting in Detail
The projection of dry ice on surfaces to be cleaned generates 3 nearly simultaneous actions. As indicated, the particles de CO2 solid particles are projected onto surfaces using compressed air:
- These particles are charged with kinetic energy and create upon impact a micro "mechanical shock" or "mechanical effect"
- Since dry ice temperature is -80°C, this creates a "thermal differential" between the contaminant and the surface. This phenomenon is known as "thermal shock" or "thermal effect".
- Finally, upon impact, there is a transition from solid state of solid CO2 to gaseous state, in a ratio of 1 to 700, or "sublimation" that ultimately completely dislodges the contaminant.
