How do you adjust particle size for a precise deburring operation?
Adjusting the particle size on the XP07 is essential when moving from surface cleaning to technical deburring without damaging the substrate.
Principle: The XP07 uses an integrated grinding system, known as a double grinder. For deburring applications, it is recommended to refine the dry ice into micro-particles.
Action: Adjust the dry ice flow regulator and the grinding selector on the front panel of your blaster. A fine particle size makes it possible to reach complex areas and remove plastic or machining burrs with high precision.
Why it matters: Smaller dry ice particles deliver a more controlled impact on the surface. This reduces the risk of marking or damaging delicate parts while maintaining enough energy to detach fine burrs.
Result: The XP07 provides clean, accurate deburring on complex polymer or aluminium parts, with minimal surface stress and no secondary waste.
Can the XP07 be used on a live electrical cabinet?
Yes, under controlled operating conditions. This is one of the key strengths of the XP07 technology. Dry ice blasting is a dry and electrically non-conductive process, making it particularly suitable for sensitive electrical environments.
Electrical safety: Dry ice sublimates instantly into gas on contact with the surface. It leaves no residual moisture, which significantly reduces the risk of short circuits or electrical arcing when the operation is carried out correctly.
Operating protocol: Use the optional BXS Delrin nozzle measuring 30 cm. Before starting, make sure there is no condensation on the nozzle. Maintain the required minimum safety distance in accordance with applicable standards and internal safety procedures, including NF C 18-510 where relevant. Work with controlled sweeping movements to remove dust and carbon residues from contactors, circuit breakers and other electrical components.
Why it matters: Conventional cleaning methods often require full electrical shutdown, disassembly or drying time. With the XP07, the cleaning process remains dry, precise and non-abrasive, reducing the constraints usually associated with electrical maintenance.
Result: The XP07 makes it possible to clean electrical cabinets more efficiently while limiting production downtime, provided that the intervention is carried out by qualified personnel using the appropriate safety protocol.
