Historical restoration of monument by dry ice blasting

There are many applications of dry ice blasting, but monument restoration by cryogenics is probably one of the most exciting! Discover below, the cleaning of the basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière

Cryogenic cleaning operation for monument restoration

  • Sector : Monuments
  • Treatment object : candle soot on columns
  • Equipment used : Mach1 replaced by ATX25

The stripping of monuments requires respect for the natural patina of stone or wood.

In terms of stripping on the occasion of the monument’s restoration by cryogenics, only a projection of dry ice at a particle size of 0.4 mm can provide this assurance.

To not risk any damage on this type of operation, we advise you to use cryogenic cleaners:
Mach1 Grinder System (replaced by ATX25 Pneumatic) or the small dry ice cleaner ATX nano.

Grinding particle size:

ATX25 & ATX nano: “SOFT” mode

Some info: the MACH1 cryogenic stripper has been replaced by the ATX25 Pneumatic model, to which you can add the ATX10 abrasive kit, for stripping of hard stones.
